The Korean Association for Translation Studies (KATS) was founded on October 30, 1999, when Translation Studies was not fully accepted as an independent and legitimate academic field in South Korea. We at KATS have successfully recruited a number of scholars and translators interested in the field, and have offered them opportunities to publish their valuable works in our conference proceedings and journals.
