Currently the collection is formed by 236 productions. Some of them consist of drawings on paper with various techniques, and signed by scenographers. These designs correspond to operas released since the last third of the 19th century, most of them from the 20th century. Some photographs of productions mounted on stage have been preserved.
The fact of photographing with the lighting of each production during the performances forced to long exposures. This explains the appearance of blurred characters and “ghosts” in the photos. Some contain the technical plant for its realization, in handwritten notes, on printed stencils, with the top view of the floor from the old theatre.
The collection includes technical documents, studies and projects carried out by Soler i Rovirosa, and by Adrià Gual –some of them published–, assignment agreements for sets and contracts for the realization of scenographies.
Among the scenographers there are prominent Catalan artists of the time: Salvador Alarma, Ramon Batlle, Josep Castells, Oleguer Junyent, Josep Mestres Cabanes, Francesc Soler i Rovirosa, Brunet i Pons, Maurici Vilomara, and others.
