| This journal aims to advance research and practice in applied linguistics as a primary and interdisciplinary effort. Moving away from a major focus on research in language teaching and learning and second language acquisition, the educational profession remains a key place, but one among many, with an active commitment which moves to other professional fields such as law, healthcare, advice, journalism, interpretation and business translation, where applied linguists have important contributions. Consequently, the journal reflects on applied linguistics as a professional practice. |
