The Korea Journal (ISSN 0023-3900) was founded in 1961 as a monthly journal by the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, and has since become a quarterly journal. Published in March, June, September and December, the Korea Journal (hereafter KJ) aims to globally promote all facets of Korean studies. KJ originally focused on introducing traditional Korean culture to the world, but has shifted its focus to become a medium for intellectual dialogue and exchange between domestic and foreign scholars in the field of Korean Studies. The Journal includes articles, debates and book reviews. Since becoming a quarterly publication in 1991, KJ has made concerted efforts to disseminate original and outstanding research and book reviews as a premier academic journal.
